Swift Injustice With Andrew Weissman and Sarah Backus

Last week, a jury in Alexandria , Virginia convicted longtime political operative Paul Manafort on eight of the eighteen counts brought against him by Andrew Weissman, a prosecutor associated with the wide-reaching Special Counsel investigation initially launched to investigate Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential Election.   Tucker Carlson described Weissman as an “enthusiastic Democratic partisan” who attended Hillary Clinton’s election night party where she planned to celebrate her victory over Donald Trump.   Manafort definitely does deserve to face some punishment for the crimes he has committed but the 305 years that the prosecution called for seems way too excessive.   Just to put things in perspective, 305 years ago, the Constitution of the United States of America did not exist, as the United States of America did not even exist.   Assuming that scientists do not come up with a cure for immortality in the near future, the 69-year-old Manafort will not live to

Corruption: How Republicans Could Snatch Defeat From the Jaws of Victory

The mainstream media had a pretty good week this week.   At least they think they did.   They have worked very hard to convince the American people that another impeachment, with the two left-wing cable networks using the “I” word 222 times following of the conviction of former Trump Campaign Manager Paul Manafort as well as the announcement that President Trump’s Former Personal Attorney Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to a series of tax fraud and campaign finance violations.   For the record, neither of Manafort’s crimes or Cohen’s alleged crimes have anything to do with Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential Election; the original purpose of the Special Counsel investigation.      In addition, the media reacted with glee to the news that Congressman Duncan Hunter, the second member of Congress to endorse President Trump in the 2016 Republican Presidential primaries, faces charges of using his campaign funds to pay for personal expenses.   Hunter represents a district in

The Fourth Axis Power in the War on Christianity

In Vermont, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Christine Hallquist has made quite a few controversial tweets about Christians in the past, including one suggesting that Christians propose an equal if not more serious threat to the United States than Radical Islamic Terrorists: “And we worry about Sharia law!   Radicalized Christians are part of the American landscape and we tolerate it.”   Hallquist’s attitude towards Christianity might not hurt her in a liberal state like Vermont , which boasts one of the lowest church attendance rates in the country. Scott Squires, an Army Chaplain stationed at Fort Bragg , North Carolina , now faces a reprimand for refusing to participate in a marriage retreat where the attendees included a Lesbian couple.   Squires pulled out of overseeing the Strong Bonds marriage retreat, in accordance with Army policy, and gave the role overseeing the retreat to someone else; thereby allowing the Lesbian couple to participate.   However, the Lesbian coupl

Anti-American Extremists Take Off Their Masks

This week, anti-American extremists took off their masks.   Well, at least some of them did. The week began with some demonstrations by some anti-American extremists, many of whom did not take off their masks.   This group of activists describes itself as “anti-fascists” or “antifa” despite the fact that many of their tactics resemble those of “actual fascists.”   Antifa had gathered in Washington , D.C. and Charlottesville over the weekend to mark the one year anniversary of the “Unite the Right” rally spearheaded by white supremacists that took place in Charlottesville , Virginia .   This year, a second “Unite the Right” rally took place in Lafayette Square in front of the White House.   The media hyped the one-year anniversary, which ultimately did not their expectations.   Instead of the gathering of scores of white supremacists they had imagined, only twenty white supremacists showed up in Lafayette Square . However, a lot more members of Antifa showed up and caused quit

Rahm Emanuel Injected With Truth Serum

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, who has previously served as a Congressman from one of the wealthiest parts of the city and later as President Obama’s Chief of Staff, proudly declared the largest city in the Midwest a “Trump-free zone” during a recent appearance on “Late Night With Stephen Colbert.”   Liberal protesters had successfully prevented Trump from holding a rally at the University of Illinois at Chicago in March 2016 ahead of the Republican Presidential Primary in Illinois ; which he ended up winning. Emanuel had previously tried to declare Chicago a “Chick-fil-A free zone”, describing the company as inconsistent with “Chicago values,” but he ended up losing that battle and Chicago residents now have the opportunity to enjoy chicken, waffle fries, breath mints and friendly service every day except Sunday.   As nearly 4,000 murders have taken place during his roughly seven-year tenure as mayor, Emanuel clearly has more important things to worry about. Chicago City Ha

2018: The Year of the Outsider

Primary season resumed last week after a brief hiatus in July, which consisted of runoffs in three states where a candidate must receive at least 50 percent of the vote before advancing to the general election.   The results of the primaries that took place this week demonstrated that a trend that first began in 2016 continues into 2018.   In Illinois , the two major candidates for Governor both had no political experience prior to running for office.   It will most likely go down as one of the most expensive gubernatorial races in United States History, considering the fact that both candidates have net worths exceeding $100 million.   Multi-millionaire Bruce Rauner, a Republican, beat Incumbent Democratic Governor Pat Quinn in 2014.   Four years later, Governor Rauner has extremely low approval ratings , likely because he alienated the conservative base when he signed a bill requiring all doctors to refer anyone requesting an abortion to a doctor who will provide one; even if it
