Immigration and the Left's Plans for Our Nation
Earlier this week, President Trump released a 70-point
plan reflecting his immigration priorities. The President has indicated that he
wants these provisions included in any bill giving any type of amnesty to the
“dreamers”, a group of illegal immigrants brought here by their parents as
minors. The 70-point plan focuses on
three primary priorities; improved border security, interior enforcement, and
the creation of a merit-based immigration policy. This surely did not impress the Democrats;
who hoped that the dreamers would receive amnesty with no strings attached. They could promise to address border security
at a later time all they wanted to but it looks like the President has decided
to call their bluff.
President Trump had previously caused anxiety among
some in his base by meeting with Senate Minority Leader and House Minority
Leader Nancy Pelosi shortly after he decided to discontinue DACA; an executive
order signed by President Obama designed to protect the dreamers from
deportation. The leaders of the
opposition party released a statement after that meeting saying that the
President had agreed to a “compromise” that would guarantee protection for the
dreamers in exchange for vague measures of “increased border security”, excluding
the wall. The fact that Pelosi dared to
speak with the President caused outrage among a group of angry DACA
beneficiaries who confronted the House Minority Leader at a town hall last
month.
Democrats say that they oppose restrictions on
immigration because it goes against “our values” as a “nation of
immigrants.” The real reason behind
their steadfast opposition to any border security has more to do with the
Democratic Party’s status as a “party of immigrants”. As the Democrats have adopted more extreme
positions on economic and social issues, they have become increasingly dependent
on the votes of immigrants; as a majority of native-born voters reject their
extremism. For an example of this new
wave of left-wing extremism, look no further than Bedlam Coffee, a business in Seattle where the owner harassed
a group of pro-life activists and told them he wanted to anally penetrate Jesus
Christ; whom the overwhelming majority of Americans consider their lord and
savior. Rather than calling this guy
extreme, the Democrats instead use that term to describe President Trump’s
immigration priorities.
Opinion
polling shows that a majority of Americans disagree with the Democrats’
characterization of President Trump’s immigration proposals as “extreme.” 71
percent of Americans agree with President Trump that companies should hire
Americans before they hire foreign workers.
A whopping 82 percent of Americans support stronger penalties for
previously deported illegal immigrants who re-enter the country. Bill O’Reilly spearheaded this proposal,
known as Kate’s Law, after Kate Steinle lost her life at the hands of an
illegal immigrant who had been deported multiple times. 76 percent of Americans support the call for
more ICE officers. 75 percent of
Americans support the President’s efforts to target MS-13. 73 percent of Americans support instituting a
requirement that new arrivals into the country have the ability to support
themselves financially. 64 percent of
Americans support withholding Federal funding to sanctuary cities that thumb
their noses at Federal immigration law.
59 percent of Americans agree that immigrants should have the ability to
speak English. 64 percent of Americans
support a points-based system that would select immigrants based on their
education levels, English speaking ability and job skills. Fortunately for these Americans, Senators Tom
Cotton (R-AR) and David Perdue (R-GA) have already introduced the RAISE Act,
which calls for the creation of a points-based system that benefits America as a
whole rather than caters to the desires of a few powerful interest groups. Finally,
59 percent of Americans support ending “chain-migration”; which allows
relatives of immigrants already living here to come into the country regardless
of whether they would serve as a net benefit to our economy. For the record, the definition of “relative”
goes far beyond the immediate family.
Unfortunately, many of our elected representatives in
Congress do not support these wildly popular proposals. The Democrats want millions of new voters and
the Republicans want to please their donors at the Chamber of Commerce, who
love taking advantage of cheap labor. Hopefully,
Steve Bannon’s efforts to replace establishment Republicans with conservatives
who support the Trump agenda will help take care of this. The fact that members of Congress are so out
of touch with the priorities of the American people might explain their low
poll numbers.
Upon further reflection, I found it quite strange that
the radical left wants to bring more people into a country they hate so
much. Why would they want to subject
anyone else to the horrors of patriarchy and colonialism? But then it hit me: liberals see the new
immigrants as a vital part of their coalition to remake America . Ann Coulter pointed out in a decade-old
article that they will serve as “the vanguard of the new socialist state.” As is the case with most remakes, the new America will
pale in comparison to the original. Liberals have already provided a preview of
coming attractions as to what our new country will look like. They’ve already destroyed and/or
deconstructed most of the inner cities as well as the concept of the nuclear
family; and made a mockery of the virtues of temperance and self-reliance. The new America
will have much in common with Western Europe ;
free healthcare, free college and free birth control will replace free speech
and free exercise of religion as the dominant pillars of our society. The “old virtues” of free exercise of
religion and free speech will apply to some of the interest groups the left
cares about such as Muslims and Antifa.
The Constitution of the New United States of America will surely include
provisions outlawing “hate speech” and mandating safe spaces. Liberals in Europe have already surrendered
their national autonomy to the bureaucrats in Brussels
and many liberals in North America have a
desire to institute something similar here.
Even as far back as 2000, Then-Mexican President Vicente Fox
romanticized the idea of a North American Union consisting of Mexico , Canada ,
and the United States . No wonder he hates the idea of the “f***ing
wall.”
Now, let’s get back to the Democrats’ opposition to
the President’s immigration proposals.
The Democrats don’t oppose the wall because they don’t think it will
work, they oppose it because they know it will work. If a wall successfully manages to keep
illegal immigrants (and drugs) from entering our country, that will throw a
wrench in the Democrats’ plans to remake America . The election of President Trump over Hillary
Clinton has already provided them with an unanticipated road block. Until President Trump came along, the
Democrats had successfully convinced most of our previous Republican Presidents
and a large number of Congressional Republicans to go along with their amnesty
schemes by promising them that they would appear “compassionate” for doing so. Most of them went along with the schemes
because the Democrats deceptively assured Republicans that they wanted a secure
border.
The immigration debate is an important one to have as
we continue fighting the culture war. Successful implementation of President
Trump’s immigration priorities will allow the traditionalists to make up some
ground in the culture war. If he makes
any concessions on the wall and/or ending chain migration, then the secular
progressives will have enough power to declare victory in the culture war and
do irreversible damage to America
as we know it.
