The Not-So-Fantastic Mrs. Foxx

Overall, this past week definitely ended up as one of the best of the Trump administration.  First, the Mueller report concluded that the President did not collude with the Russians in an effort to secure victory in the 2016 Presidential Election.  Then, the House of Representatives failed overwhelmingly in its effort to override President Trump’s veto of Congress’s disapproval of his National Emergency.  However, another event that took place this week did far more than just rain on the President’s parade; it reinforced a narrative that wealth, connections, and victimhood can effectively enable some people to break the law without facing any consequences. Two months ago, actor Jussie Smollett alleged that two men in #MAGA hats committed a hate crime against him on one of the coldest days of the year in one of the most Democratic neighborhoods in the country.  Smollett, who scores quite high in the intersectionality Olympics as a black gay man, alleged that the two...

Tom Steyer's Impeachment Money Pit

Left-wing billionaire Tom Steyer has spent millions of dollars focusing on a campaign to impeach President Trump.  To a degree, it looks like Democratic members of Congress have heard him loud and clear.  The House Judiciary Committee has issued document requests to “81 agencies, entities and individuals with connections” to President Trump.  House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler has said that he already feels like President Trump obstructed justice.  Coincidentally, Nadler made these comments not long after Steyer held a town hall in his home district designed to put pressure on Nadler to support impeachment.  No member of Congress has gone further than freshman Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib who vowed to “impeach the mother***er” the day her term in Congress began, and indicated her desire to impeach President Trump again just this week. Now, Steyer has moved onto a different goal: putting pressure on Republicans.  In perhaps the dumbes...

America's Wacky Wednesday

American children’s book author Dr. Seuss once wrote a book called “Wacky Wednesday,” where a child wakes up to find absolutely everything seeming out of place.   Unfortunately, it looks like America has reached a “Wacky Wednesday” of its own but this time, it’s no laughing matter. For starters, liberals have effectively turned the American justice system on its head in the wake of the sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh; the number of which continues to grow as the Republicans continue to delay a Judiciary Committee vote.   Coincidence?   Don’t bet on it.   Traditionally, the defendant has no responsibility to prove his or her innocence; the prosecution has the responsibility to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.   However, many Democratic Senators who hated Kavanaugh to begin with and would never in a million years have voted to confirm him, have now said that the onus lies on him for proclaiming his innocence. ...

The 100-Day Dash

How time flies.   Less than 100 days remain between now and the 2018 midterm elections.   Everyone obsesses over the “generic ballot,” which ultimately means nothing.   We live in the United States , not Great Britain .   Democrats could end up winning a majority of the nationwide popular vote while Republicans maintain control of both houses of Congress.   That’s exactly what happened in 2012.   That may also pan out in 2018, especially considering the fact that the Democrats will capture nearly 100 percent of the popular vote in the California Senate race thanks to the top-two primary system.   In addition, the number of Democrats without Republican opponents in House races far exceeds the number of Republicans without Democratic opponents; which will drive up the Democratic share of the vote in the nationwide popular vote tally.   In the House, Republicans start off at a disadvantage.   The Democrats only need 23 seats to regain co...
