Exposing the Democrats' Diversity Double Standards

During a recent appearance on “The View,” outgoing Congresswoman Mia Love called out the Democrats for their hypocrisy on diversity.  Love, a Haitian-American Republican from Utah who lost her re-election bid last year, claimed that the Democrats “targeted me because I was a…because I am a black female Republican. And they replaced me with a middle-aged white male in the state of Utah.”  Love continued: “They tried to get rid of every single diversity that they possibly could.  And to me, diversity on the left side is good for them if you think the same way they do.”  In other words, if the left really cared so much about diversity; they would not have worked so hard to take out Love.  Never-Trumper Ana Navarro, who recently became one of the show’s permanent co-hosts on Fridays, said something that actually made sense for once in her life; in response to Love’s claim that the left wanted to get rid of her because of her race and gender: “I ...

2020: Pro-Life Democrats' Last Stand?

Based on the rhetoric of Democratic leadership, it would seem as if pro-life voices have completely vanished within the Democratic Party.   However, recent developments at the state level have called that conventional wisdom into question. At the national level, almost every single Democratic member of Congress sympathizes with the pro-choice movement.   That number could dwindle following the 2020 election.   Republicans will surely target Minnesota’s 7 th Congressional District as they seek to take back the House from the clutches of pro-abortion Nancy Pelosi.   Its representative, pro-life Democrat Collin Peterson, has survived re-election battles for nearly three decades; even as his district voted for President Trump with more than 60 percent of the vote in 2016.   His vote share has dropped off in the most recent elections; he won re-election in 2018 by a margin of only four points . As he will have reached the ripe old age of 76 by Election ...

The Kavanaugh Effect

Liberals across America have officially gone into meltdown mode now that all of their tactics to derail the appointment of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court have failed.  Kavanaugh took his seat on the Supreme Court and heard oral arguments for the first time on Tuesday.  They thought that 11 th hour sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh would cause Republicans to panic and withdraw his nomination, leaving the seat vacant ahead of the midterms.  Their plan relied on the Democrats taking over the Senate in the fall; at which time the Senate Democrats would have kept the seat formerly head by Justice Anthony Kennedy open until after the 2020 Presidential Election; at which time they hoped that President Kamala Harris or President Cory Booker would get to pick the next Supreme Court Justice. The fiasco surrounding the Kavanaugh nomination may have led to a Kavanaugh effect, in other words, a surge in support for Republican candidates as a result of the gut...

Message From #TheResistance: Side With Trump At Your Own Risk

After watching the character assassination that Brett Kavanaugh has had to go through as he awaits a seat on the Supreme Court, a very obvious question arises: Who else would want to go through that?   Even if the Democrats do successfully derail the confirmation of Kavanaugh, someone at some point will have to fill that seat.   President Trump had assembled a lengthy list of jurists he would select from when filling Supreme Court vacancies.   It would not come as much of a surprise if that list just got a lot smaller.   If President Trump ever calls anybody else on that list to tap them as his Supreme Court pick, many of them would probably pick up the phone and say “thanks but no thanks.   I don’t want to get dragged through the mud.”   Kavanaugh himself already warned that would happen in his letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee where he made the obvious point that “such grotesque and obvious character assassination – if allowed to succeed – will d...

Leadership Crises At Home and Abroad

Some incidents that took place last week make it seem that the future of the leadership of the political parties at home and abroad remains in question. In a recent interview published in Rolling Stone , House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi downplayed the idea of younger voices in her party including Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) and Seth Moulton (D-MA) calling for younger leadership, describing them as “Inconsequential.   They don’t have a following in our caucus.   None.”   That’s actually not true.   Nearly a third of House Democrats ended up supporting Ryan when he sought to challenge Pelosi for the position of House Minority Leader in 2016; albeit not nearly enough to oust Pelosi. Ryan blasted Pelosi’s remarks as “super judgmental” and “elitist” during an appearance on “Fox & Friends” over the weekend; echoing comments previously made by Chris Matthews.   During an appearance on CNN last year, Don Lemon asked Ryan if he thought Nancy Pelosi was more toxic ...

Where America Stands: 242 Years Later

Today marks the 242 nd anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, where inhabitants of the thirteen original colonies declared their independence from Great Britain more than a year after the “shot heard round the world” kicked off the American Revolution, also known as the Revolutionary War.   The American Revolution would not officially end for another seven years, with the signing of the Treaty of Paris. Two of the men who signed the Declaration of Independence ended up becoming President of the United States ; John Adams and Thomas Jefferson.   During their political careers, the two men could not stand each other.   While Jefferson served as Adams’ Vice President back when the candidate who received the second highest number of votes became Vice President, Jefferson ended up defeating Adams in the 1800 Presidential Election.   After the conclusion of their political careers, Adams and Jefferson became friends. Ironically, th...
