The Consequences of Putting America First
While Ann Coulter and maybe even President Trump could
probably write a whole piece on the consequences of not putting America first, I will instead choose to write
about the consequences the Trump Administration has faced for putting America
first, or in some cases, simply trying to.
For many years, politicians in both parties have
effectively worked to put America last; whether it’s by propping up China on the
world stage, which only accelerated the outsourcing of American manufacturing
jobs overseas, supporting an immigration policy that does not take the
country’s national interest into consideration but pleases big business, or
signing onto international agreements that undermine our national sovereignty. Hoping to set a different course for the
nation, President Trump withdrew the United
States from the Paris Climate Agreement, which required
the United States to start
implementing “greener” energy sources in the very near future while letting the
world’s biggest polluters like China
off the hook until 2030.
United States Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki
Haley made a bold move earlier this week by withdrawing
from the UN Human Rights Council. This
organization frequently complains about the United
States and Israel
as human rights violators while ignoring the blatant examples of human rights
violations taking place in other countries on the council, such as Cuba , a
communist country that imprisons political dissidents. Like liberals, the UN Human Rights Council
has adopted “Blame America First” as its motto.
PuttingAmerica first also means securing
the border. Earlier this year, Attorney General Jeff Sessions implemented a
“zero-tolerance” policy for migrant families, unaccompanied minors and/or asylum seekers crossing the border at any place
besides one of the ports of entry. The
“zero-tolerance” policy meant that the Trump Administration would prosecute
every adult who crosses the border illegally, including those with
children. Because of a Court decision in
ultra-liberal California , which only became
ultra-liberal because of our “America
last” immigration policy, ruling that illegal immigrant children cannot be held
in detention centers for more than twenty days. Therefore, the Trump
Administration has two options. Either
separate the children from their parents or release them all together, asking
them nicely to show up in front of an immigration judge at a hearing that they
will most likely not even show up for; leading to the status quo of “Catch &
Release.” The “Catch & Release”
phenomenon, in addition to chain migration, has led to an explosion in the
immigrant population.
As President Trump pointed
out, “Democrats are the problem.
They don’t care about crime and want illegal immigrants, no matter how
bad they may be, to pour into and infest our country, like MS-13. They can’t win on their policies, so they
view them as potential voters!”
The Democrats can run the tired “we are running
candidates that match their districts” line all they want to. But should the Democrats win back control of
one or both Houses of Congress this fall, they will not govern using “third way
politics” or “triangulation” that defined at least part of the Clinton
Administration. They will govern from
the far left, represented by the people who poured urine
on Lauren Southern, set fires on the UC Berkeley campus and throughout the
cities of Ferguson , Missouri
and Baltimore , Maryland , and pepper sprayed Gavin
McInnes.
Putting
So the Trump Administration decided to house all illegal immigrant children detained at the border in a series of detention centers across the border as government officials either searched for their relatives in the United States, prosecuted their parents, or tried to confirm the validity of the relationships between the children and the adults who accompanied them. The media had previously
tried to stir public outrage by releasing photos of children in cages from
2014, neglecting to conveniently leave out the photo date, which would
implicate the left’s beloved President Obama.
Liberals quickly started whining about “ripping children from their
mothers’ arms.” Forgive me for not
wanting lectures about “ripping children from their mothers’ arms” from a party
that sees no problem with ripping children from their mothers’ wombs as late as
nine months into a pregnancy.
So President Trump signed an executive order, hoping
that would shut up the left, who, as Ann Coulter pointed out, is “like a
girlfriend who cries if she doesn’t get her way. So she always gets her way.” But not surprisingly, the left continued to
complain even after he signed the executive order, which they said would make
them happy. For example, Senator Kamala
Harris tweeted out “This executive order doesn’t fix the crisis. Indefinitely detaining children with their families
in camps is inhumane and will not make us safe.” By “us”, she means the Democratic Party. She continued, “Our immigrant detention
system is massive & rampant with abuse.
The White House wants to pour more money into it to imprison
families. I urge my colleagues to
support the DONE Act to prohibit the expansion or construction of new detention
facilities & increase oversight funding.”
Perhaps Harris, Nancy Pelosi, and Maxine Waters can open up their
multi-million dollar mansions and use them to house the migrants. In another tweet, Harris complained “This Executive Order in no
way deals with reuniting the *two thousand three hundred* children who have
been torn away from their parents and remain separated. When will they see their parents again? They
must be reunited.”
Senator Marco Rubio expressed his frustration on the
moving goal posts on his Twitter account: “The ink isn’t even dry on the new
executive order ending separation policy & some Democrats already arguing
that keeping families together isn’t enough.
Now they want them & their parents released after unlawful entry
knowing full well that high % will never appear for hearing.” Exactly. They want them to disappear into the
interior of the United
States , preferably to a state with lax voter
ID laws.
Putting America First means that the Trump inner
circle will have to endure hate-filled tweets like two fired off by has-been
actor Peter Fonda, brother of the Hollywood crown jewel forever known as “Hanoi
Jane,” earlier this week. In the first
tweet, Fonda uttered some blatantly misogynistic comments about Homeland
Security Kirstjen Nielsen, who has become the bogeywoman of the left: “Kirstjen
Nielsen is a lying g**h that should be put in a cage and poked at by
passerby. The g**h should be pilloried
in Lafayette Square
naked and whipped by passerby while being filmed for posterity.” And I thought I knew every swear word.
In the second tweet, Fonda suggested, in all caps, “We
should Rip Barron Trump from his mother’s arms and put him in a cage with
pedophiles and see if mother will stand up against the giant a**hole she is
married to. 90 million people on the
streets on the same weekend in the country.”
Fonda, who apparently hasn’t cut back on the LSD after all, has deleted these tweets, but has not faced
the same amount of backlash as Roseanne Barr, whose show got cancelled because
of an offensive tweet she directed at former Obama Administration official
Valerie Jarrett, a left winger. Sony Pictures released a movie featuring Fonda as scheduled
this morning; he ultimately faced no consequences for saying equally if not more offensive statements about right wingers.
Putting America first, or speaking on
behalf of those who seek to, also means harassment in the public square. On the
same day that she became a target of Peter Fonda, Nielsen also became a target
of the Metro DC Democratic Socialists, who harassed her as she dined at a Mexican
Restaurant near the White House. One of
the protesters made the mission of the far, far left perfectly clear by asking
the DHS Secretary to “to end family separation and abolish ICE.” Nielsen ended up leaving the restaurant; she
may have to don a disguise the next time she goes out to eat. One
of the people who harassed Nielsen, Alison Hrabar, works for the Department
of Justice as a paralegal assistant.
The harassment of Nielsen comes just one month after
Fox News Contributor and former host on “The Blaze” Tomi Lahren had water
spilled on her by an angry left-wing activist while dining with her parents
at a restaurant in the City of Minneapolis , the
only reason Minnesota
ended up voting for Hillary Clinton in 2016. So much for “live and let live.”
While the website Splinter leaked the personal phone number of White House Senior Policy Adviser Stephen Miller, a champion of the “America first” agenda, NYU Professor Stephen Lavigne leaked the personal information of ICE agents, whom the far left has gone out of its way to demonize. A far-left group called INDECLINE vandalized a billboard in
The Democrats hope that obsessing over the situation
at the border will help animate their base and carry them over the finish line
in the 2018 midterm elections. Sean
Hannity warned what would happen should Democrats retake control of the House
of Representatives: “Democrats will push to impeach President Trump, Democrats
will push for open borders, Democrats will keep Obamacare, Democrats will roll
back tax cuts.” Should the Democrats
retake power, the idea of America First and the idea of America will
vanish, perhaps forever.
