SNN: Snowflake News Network

 

There has been much discussion about how CNN’s constant Trump-bashing probably does not help it achieve its parent company, Time Warner’s goal of merging with AT&T.  Well, I am here to propose a different merger idea.  CNN should merge with MSNBC to create the Snowflake News Network (SNN).  In the age of Trump, the two networks have basically become indistinguishable.  They both overact to everything that President Trump does to the point where they look absolutely ridiculous to anyone who is not part of the “Resistance”. 

The most recent example of overreaction deals with a decade-old video of Trump body slamming WWE Founder Vince McMahon as part of the well-publicized “Battle of the Billionaires” at Wrestlemania 23.  Since someone edited the CNN logo onto McMahon’s face, the crybabies at CNN now claim that the President is trying to incite violence against journalists.  Apparently, these geniuses did not even realize that the Trump-McMahon showdown was not malicious at all and neither is the WWE.  If Trump really hated McMahon that much, why did he give his wife a cabinet position?  CNN did some hard-hitting investigative journalism to uncover the identity of the Reddit user who took credit for the creation of the CNN GIF used in the video; which the President posted on his Twitter account Sunday morning.  CNN eventually contacted the Reddit user in question, who goes by the alias “HanA**hole Solo.”  Solo asked the news network not to release his identity to the public and the network agreed; as long as he promised to stop posting offensive content on his Reddit page.  Now, CNN faces allegations of blackmail all because they couldn’t handle a harmless joke.  Well, now the joke’s on them.  A series of entertaining Trump vs. CNN memes have surfaced.  My personal favorite is the one where CNN is Happy Gilmore and Trump is Bob Barker. 

There is plenty of overreaction at the far-left think tank known as MSNBC.  Chris Matthews has repeatedly compared the Trump family to the Romanovs; a political dynasty that ruled over Russia for over three centuries right up until the start of the Russian Revolution.  Matthews and other lefties believe that it is the worst thing in the world for Donald Trump to take advice from his children.   It is not unprecedented for Presidents to rely on their children as advisors.  President George H.W. Bush frequently took advice from his adult children.  It was his son, future President George W. Bush, who advised him to replace his Chief of Staff; John Sununu.  Something tells me that if a hypothetical President Hillary Clinton used Chelsea Clinton as an advisor the same way President Trump uses his adult children as advisors, Chris Matthews would not compare the Clintons to the Romanovs.  

The adversarial relationship between President Trump and the lamestream media is mutually beneficial.  When the President takes jabs at the media, it thrills his conservative base; who has detested the left-wing media for decades.  When the cable news networks go after the President, it excites the far left; many of whom think he is the second-coming of Hitler.  The nonstop attacks on POTUS allow the Cable TV networks to remain relevant as online media platforms such as the Young Turks and Buzzfeed to rise in popularity.  One of the reasons the MSM hates President Trump so much is because he actually fights back.  They are used to attacking Republicans and conservatives with impunity.  Those days have come and gone as the world’s best counter-puncher now sits in the Oval Office.  The left-wing media had better get used to the taste of its own medicine. 

 

 

 

 

 

Now, let’s get back to some of my ideas for Snowflake News Network.  Since identity politics has taught us that every group deserves a safe space, it seems only fair that the snowflakes get their very own cable channel that caters to their every need.  Every other group that liberals supposedly care about already has their own channel.  Blacks have BET, gays have Bravo, Hispanics have Univision, and women have Lifetime. With SNN, snowflakes all across America will no longer have to make the painful choice of whether to watch Anderson Cooper or Rachel Maddow.  The snowflakes will no longer have to endure the microagressions caused by opposing points of view; as everyone on the network will be vehemently anti-Trump.  If the results of Election Day 2018 mirror the results of Election Day 2016, the Anchors on Snowflake News Network might need to bring in some therapy dogs to prevent an on-air meltdown like that of ABC News’s Martha Raddatz.

 

 

 

 As of right now, it appears as if my vision of Snowflake News Network does not have a shot at becoming a reality.  While CNN’s reputation has taken a beating as a result of its fake story on Trump advisor Anthony Scaramucci’s ties to Russia as well as its apparent blackmail of a Reddit user, don’t expect it to change its style anytime soon.  Its anti-Trump bias gives it quite an audience in this highly polarized political climate.  The best advice I could give is to take everything you hear from CNN, MSNBC, the nightly news broadcasts, and most major national newspapers with a grain of salt.  The MSM thrives on an uninformed populace; it makes it much easier for them to distribute its deceptive misinformation.  It has never been more important to stay informed and do the fact-checking the mainstream media won’t do.
