Pro-Abortion Extremists Take Off Their Masks

As the debate about the Supreme Court heats up, the liberals have taken off their masks and revealed themselves as extremists on the issue of abortion once again.  Liberals have always tried to reassure the American public that they want abortion to be “safe, legal, and rare.”  Well they don’t seem to care very much about safety.  Planned Parenthood and its allies lobbied against an Alabama law that required abortion facilities to maintain the cleanliness standards of hospitals in addition to mandating that doctors who perform abortions have admitting privileges at local hospitals.  They seemed to have abandoned their belief in keeping abortions “rare” as well.  During a skit on her show “The Break with Michelle Wolf,” “comedian” Michelle Wolf suggested that McDonald’s should offer abortions on its dollar menu in addition to encouraging pregnant women and “women who may be pregnant in the future” to get abortions.  Not since Lena Dunham’s statement claiming that she had wished she had an abortion has Hollywood become so unhinged over the issue of “choice.”  More than twelve years after Ann Coulter wrote a column entitled “Fork Replaces Donkey as Democratic Party Symbol,” that phrase has never rung truer.

Perhaps the left should admit how they really feel about abortions: they want them “convenient, legal, and subsidized.”  Michelle Wolf said it herself when she said  “Abortion shouldn’t be a luxury.”  In Oregon, a recently passed state law requires insurance companies to provide abortion free of charge.  Taking into account Milton Friedman’s correct assertion that “There’s No Such Thing as a Free Lunch,” the tax dollars of the hard working men and women of Oregon will pay for abortions.

What does all of this talk about abortion have to do with the Supreme Court?  Everything.  Remember that the imaginary “right” to abortion would not exist without the Supreme Court’s ruling in the 1973 case Roe v. Wade, where seven of nine Supreme Court justices, including five appointed by Republican Presidents, completely circumvented the Democratic process and struck down laws banning abortion in all fifty states.  Because Republicans continued to make poor choices when it came to Supreme Court Justices, the imaginary right to abortion has scourged the United States of America for nearly half a century.  Besides Academia, the media and Hollywood, no group has done more to advance the pet projects of third-wave feminism than the Judicial Branch.
In an effort to appease conservatives who did not like his style, President Trump released a list of candidates he would pick from when choosing Supreme Court nominees. The Supreme Court had become a major issue in the 2016 Presidential election, following the unexpected death of originalist icon Justice Antonin Scalia; which occurred shortly after the 2016 Presidential Primaries first began.   Exit polls showed that Americans who viewed the future of the Supreme Court as the most important factor when deciding their vote supported President Trump by a fifteen-point margin.

President Trump quickly filled the Supreme Court vacancy caused by the death of Scalia with Neil Gorsuch.  Slightly more than a year after Gorsuch ascended to the highest court in the land, 81-year-old Justice Anthony Kennedy, a moderate who Gorsuch had clerked for, decided to retire.  President Trump promised to fill the vacancy quickly, much to the chagrin of Senate Democrats, who want to wait until after the midterms to hold hearings.  Late last week, President Trump announced that he had narrowed his list down to four candidates.  The Amy Coney Barrett, who faced badgering questions from liberal Democrats about her Catholic faith during Confirmation hearings to serve on one of the lower courts last year, longtime DC Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Brett Kavanaugh, Third Court of Appeals Judge Thomas Hardiman, and Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Raymond Kethledge.

While Democrats obviously want to uphold Roe v. Wade, some Republicans seem to have quite an obsession with it as well.  Senator Susan Collins, one of two pro-choice Republicans in the Senate, has said she will not vote for any Supreme Court nominee who explicitly refuses to overturn the holy grail of progressivism.  Collins and Senator Lisa Murkowski have become the targets of aggressive advertising campaigns by liberal groups who hope to convince them to join the Senate Democrats in voting against the Supreme Court nominee.  Conservative groups, meanwhile, have targeted red state Democrats including the three who voted for Gorsuch, hoping to convince them that their electoral success in the fall will depend on whether or not they vote for the Supreme Court nominee. Unfortunately, Republicans enjoy a slimmer Senate majority than they did when President Trump nominated Neil Gorsuch.  Republicans could have afforded to lose the two pro-choice squishes in their party and still had enough votes to confirm him.  Ultimately, all 52 Republicans and three red state Democrats voted to confirm Gorsuch.  Gorsuch’s confirmation only took place because Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell decided to abolish the filibuster for Supreme Court nominees.
Right now, Republicans have a razor-thin majority in the upper chamber as a result of losing a Senate seat in Alabama in a special election last year and John McCain’s prolonged absence from the Senate due to brain cancer means that Republicans only have 50 votes in the Senate.  Assuming that all Democrats stick together and vote against the nominee, Republicans cannot afford to lose a single vote.  President Trump ultimately chose Kavanaugh, a former clerk of Justice Kennedy’s, to fill the vacancy caused by his impending retirement.  Senator Rand Paul has raised questions about Kavanaugh’s rulings suggesting that the government collecting metadata did not violate the Fourth Amendment while others have expressed concern about some of Kavanaugh’s past rulings related to Obamacare.

Before President Trump even announced Kavanaugh as his nominee, protesters had gathered on the steps of the Supreme Court.  The Daily Wire reported that many protesters came armed with signs leaving a blank space that they would fill in as soon as President Trump announced his nominee.  Breitbart’s Amanda House posted a picture on her Twitter page showing that protesters had prepared signs saying “Stop Hardiman” and “Stop Kethledge” if President Trump had decided to pick one of those two as his nominee.  Many prominent politicians chose to join the far-left protesters, including New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, who has veered sharply to the left since her time in the House of Representatives, and a few other potential 2020 Presidential contenders including Senator Bernie Sanders, “Goofy Elizabeth” Warren, Senator Kamala Harris, and Senator Cory Booker. The protests got so out of hand that poor Shannon Bream, Fox News’s Supreme Court Reporter who had originally planned to anchor her show “Fox News at Night” from the steps of the Supreme Court, had to vacate the premises and do the show from the Fox News Studio in Washington, D.C. She described the situation on her Twitter page: “Literally had to bail on our live show from #SCOTUS.  Moving the show back to the safety of the studio.  See y’all at 11p.”

Speaking of Shannon Bream, the Fox News host had to endure left-wing hysteria on her Twitter page as well.  One Twitter user took fear-mongering to the extreme when she told Bream “It is going to be a riot when you are told you can no longer work because you are a woman and you need to go home and make your husband dinner and get impregnated immediately.”  Bream responded by saying “He didn’t marry for my awful cooking.  That’s for sure…”  Nobody seriously thinks that the Supreme Court will ever ban women from the workplace unless they have failed to take their medication for Trump Derangement Syndrome.  Liberals passing judgment on stay-at-home moms and housewives truly baffles me.  After all, the feminists supposedly care about “choice.”

The Women’s March organizers released a statement that began with the phrase, “In response to Donald Trump’s nomination of XX to the Supreme Court,” indicating that they had planned to release it no matter who the President chose.  So much for open mindedness.  The Women’s March statement also warned that “Trump’s announcement today is a death sentence for thousands of women in the United States.”  The Roe v. Wade decision the feminists deeply revere has unleashed a death sentence to millions of women, including the mothers of unborn babies, who have already died at the hands of abortion doctors all across the country.

Even after the President announced Kavanaugh as his Supreme Court nominee, the deception and foolishness from the left continued.  The Democrats’ official Twitter account featured a statement reading “Let’s be clear: A vote for #KavanaughSCOTUS would be a vote to rip health care from American families and deny women their right to make their own health care choices.”  As part of their scare tactics, they photoshopped a picture of President Trump’s Supreme Court Nominee in black and white over a picture of the Supreme Court in an effort to make him look scary. Just one problem: they used a picture of Thomas Hardiman, not Brett Kavanaugh.  While the Democrats deleted the tweet, screenshots have made sure the picture will live forever.

The Democrats’ love for abortion comes directly from their hatred of religion, which the sexual liberation theology they subscribe to views as placing unnecessary constraints on sexual freedom.  Even as science continues to make it harder for liberals to argue that unborn babies do not constitute a “life,” liberals still argue that fetuses do not deserve the legal protections granted to persons living outside of the womb. The criminal justice system feels differently.  In December 2002, Scott Peterson murdered his wife and unborn son.  The feminist argument should have stopped the second the jury found Peterson guilty of first-degree murder of his wife and second-degree murder of his son.  Peterson murdered his wife and unborn son because of adultery on his part.  Coincidentally, many abortions take place to cover up adultery.
The pro-abortion extremists will do everything in their power to derail Kavanaugh’s nomination in an effort to save their favorite Supreme Court case in the whole wide world.  Kavanaugh should get ready for a “cruel summer.”
